Vision and Mission

Barclay Elementary/ Middle School is a university assisted community school that strives to prepare college and career ready citizens by cultivating a learning environment that challenges and inspires students academically and socially through a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) instructional focus.

MISSION: Barclay Elementary /Middle School will achieve its vision by:

• Integrating the arts in daily instruction and after-school programs
• Engaging students in rigorous learning activities in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math though partnerships with Johns Hopkins
• Improving and accelerating student’s literacy and math achievement through data-driven small group classroom instruction
• Implementing writing across content areas and writing focused after-school programs in partnership with Child First Authority
• Providing opportunities for student collaboration and character building during the day and after school.

The Barclay School focuses on integrating academics, services, supports and opportunities that lead to improving student learning, stronger families, and healthier communities.
